Proteins
- 6 ounces flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain
- 6 ounces shrimp, peeled and deveined
Noodles
- 8 ounces stir-fry noodles or lo mein noodles, cooked and drained
Sauce
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
- 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
Vegetables & Aromatics
- 1/2 red bell pepper, sliced
- 1/2 cup shredded carrots
- 2 green onions, sliced
- 1 cup snap peas
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
Oils & Seasoning
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Sesame seeds and sliced green onions for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare the sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, and sesame oil until well combined. Set aside.
- Cook the steak: Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Season the thinly sliced flank steak with salt and pepper. Add the steak to the hot pan and cook for 2 to 3 minutes until browned but still tender. Remove the steak from the skillet and set aside.
- Cook the shrimp: In the same pan, add the shrimp and cook for 2 to 3 minutes until they turn pink and opaque. Remove and set aside with the steak.
- Stir-fry the vegetables: Add garlic, grated ginger, red bell pepper slices, shredded carrots, sliced green onions, and snap peas to the pan. Stir-fry for 2 to 3 minutes until the vegetables are just tender but still crisp.
- Add noodles and sauce: Add the cooked noodles to the pan along with the prepared sauce mixture. Toss everything together thoroughly to ensure the noodles are coated and heated through.
- Combine proteins and finish: Return the cooked steak and shrimp to the pan. Toss to combine evenly and cook for another minute to warm through.
- Serve: Transfer to plates or bowls. Optionally garnish with sesame seeds and additional sliced green onions before serving hot.
Notes
- Substitute flank steak with ribeye or sirloin for different textures and flavors.
- Use any available vegetables such as broccoli, mushrooms, or bok choy if preferred.
- Adjust the sauce by adding chili paste for heat or extra hoisin sauce for additional sweetness.
- Ensure noodles are cooked and drained before stir-frying to prevent sogginess.
- Cook steak and shrimp quickly over high heat to keep them tender and juicy.
