Ingredients
Scale
Pasta
- 12 oz medium egg noodles
Meat
- 1 lb ground beef
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Sauce
- 1 can (10.75 oz) tomato soup
- 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
- 1 cup milk
- 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 tsp minced garlic
- 2 tbsp dried onion flakes
Topping
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with nonstick cooking spray and set it aside to be ready for the casserole.
- Cook the Egg Noodles: Cook the egg noodles according to the package instructions until they are tender but not mushy. Drain well and set aside.
- Cook the Ground Beef: In a large skillet over medium heat, brown and crumble the ground beef. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Once cooked through, drain off any excess grease to keep the casserole from being greasy.
- Prepare the Sauce: In a large mixing bowl, combine the tomato soup, cream of mushroom soup, milk, Worcestershire sauce, minced garlic, and dried onion flakes. Stir until all ingredients are well mixed and smooth.
- Combine and Bake: Add the cooked egg noodles and browned ground beef to the sauce mixture. Stir carefully to evenly distribute all ingredients. Transfer this mixture to the prepared baking dish, spreading it out evenly.
- Bake and Add Topping: Place the casserole uncovered in the preheated oven and bake for 25 to 30 minutes, until bubbly and heated through. Remove from the oven and sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese evenly over the top. Return the casserole to the oven for a few more minutes until the cheese melts and lightly browns.
- Serve: Let the casserole cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy warm with a side of garlic bread and a fresh salad for a wholesome meal.
Notes
- You can substitute ground turkey or chicken for a leaner protein option.
- Add a handful of frozen peas or chopped spinach to the mixture for extra vegetables.
- Use fresh minced garlic instead of dried for a stronger garlic flavor.
- If you prefer, replace Parmesan with shredded cheddar or mozzarella cheese.
- Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days and reheated in the oven or microwave.
